30+ Year Legacy in Patternmaking
TMI was founded in 1993 by Minneapolis-based patternmaker Steve Nelson. Since that time, TMI has contributed casting and tooling expertise to nearly every major commercial and defense aircraft platform in existence.
Today, TMI is home to a team of 20 professionals dedicated to furthering America’s aerospace manufacturing capabilities.

Services to Build and Qualify Castings
Foundry Tooling
Whether you need urethane core boxes, match plate tooling, or hybrid tooling, we are ready to support you. We accept the full range of complexity and have performed multiple projects with over 70 cores.
First-Article Inspections
Qualifying parts for a new launch or requalifying legacy tools? TMI has generated inspection reports on parts with up to 3,000 dimensions and 40 blueprint pages.
Casting Fixtures
At TMI, we understand what it takes for a foundry to produce quality parts. To further your operation, we design and build fixtures for inspection, targeting, heat treat, straightening, pressure testing, and machining castings.
