JOB DESCRIPTION
TMI is looking for candidates that have an interest in becoming a foundry patternmaker. Patternmakers are highly skilled industrial tradesmen that build tooling for foundries. Foundry tooling and patternmakers play a critical role in the efficient and economical mass-production of metal-cast parts made by foundries across the country.
We have been in business for over 30 years and are always looking for the next generation of passionate artisans to train. This position relies on the patternmakers to use various types of machinery (Tablesaws, Bandsaws, Drill Presses, Sanders, Bridgeports, and even CNC machines) to create the master patterns that cast into the core box molds we sell. Being that this position requires a very special skillset, we are looking for any candidates (from entry level to very experienced) that are willing to come in and learn a new and unique trade.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Proficiency in operating manual machinery such as radial drills, table saws, drill presses, lathes, grinders, and sanders
- Proficiency in mixing, pouring, and molding plastics
- Proficiency in analyzing part geometry using CAD models, blueprints, and measurement equipment such as calipers and micrometers to identify parting lines, loose-piece requirements, draft, and the overall manufacturing approach for their assigned task
- Insight into tooling design elements that enable our foundry customers to be as productive as possible
- On the job training available for those that are willing to bring positive energy and embrace a learners mindset.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must pass a background check
- Must be detail-oriented, mechanically minded, and internally driven to learn
- Knowledge of safety practices in a machining environment
- A demonstrated history of personal integrity, work ethic, and collaboration in a team environment
- A passion for the aerospace and defense industry
