JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a passionate CNC Machinist/Programmer to join our team. This individual should have an innate ability to analyze a unique part, understand the most efficient way to machine a given geometry, and deploy their programming and setup expertise to deliver our finished part. The ideal candidate would be a fast learner that can quickly develop an understanding of work-holding techniques, materials, tooling, speeds, and feeds to maximize the productivity and capabilities of their machine.
No day will be the same as all our components are one-off. With tight tolerances and high levels of geometric complexity, this position will stretch your technical abilities. We typically machine aluminum and plastics, but also cut wood, steel and iron for different applications. We have 3-Axis and 5-Axis machines and are currently running Mastercam and Powermill software. For less experienced applicants that are willing to bring positive energy and embrace a learners mindset, we are willing to train.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop overall programming, setup, and machining approach to minimize total setup and machine time
- Understand machining considerations such as tool selection and feeds/speeds for various plastics, aluminum, and steel components
- Develop CNC Programs using Mastercam or Powermill software
- Verify conformance to project requirements pertaining to draft, boost, and surface finish
- Operation of manual machine tools – lathes, knee mills, bandsaws, grinders, etc.
REQUIREMENTS
- Must be a US Citizen
- Must pass a background check
- Proficiency in Mastercam or Powermill CAM Software
- Knowledge of safety practices in a machining environment
- Ability to multitask – program/setup while monitoring CNC operation
- A demonstrated history of personal integrity, work ethic, and collaboration in a team environment
- A passion for the aerospace and defense industry
